I treated Elliot when he was 15 years old.
Lab Shepard mix with some wolf.
We first called Dianna to help keep Elliot comfortable, due to his hip and knees (rear). He has trouble getting up and down from laying down. His right eye is bad because the eye lid is turned down, and he tends to rub it raw. Since Bowen it has been clearing up. Elliot is now able to turn around is a small area, instead of backing up which is new.
PS update: Just a quick note to let you know how Elliot is doing...he has been a bit shakey this week, sometimes having a hard time getting up after laying down. One hind leg crosses over the other hind leg every now and then as he is trying to get up from laying down.
At the same time he is moving well outside. While running and walking, all four legs moving separately. Today when we went for a walk, he was running around like a youngin' and running through some snow for a short sprint before he realized how hard it was to run in the snow.
Last night had his front end up on the sofa with me. All his weight was on his hind legs. It has been so long since I have seen this that I made him get down as it made me nervous. So after a few rough days, I think he is on the upswing...plus the weather has been so up and down temperature wise, so that probably is a factor too.
NOTE: Vet remarked on Elliot's improvement; legs stronger, and eye virtually not draining. All this after one session!
